Science in service of nature

Environmental challenges are colossal and the status quo is no longer possible. In these times of transition, we have opportunities to rethink our relationship with nature. The results of the latest scientific studies on disappearing wildlife do not bode well. But it is not too late to act! If science allows us to paint a realistic portrait of mankind’s current disturbing path, science will have to guide our future actions by communicating the results of its research even more.

In a talk illustrated by striking images, biologist Jean Lemire shares his point of view on various concerning environmental issues that we are currently facing. From climate change to plastic in the oceans to biodiversity loss, his talk offers food for thought. Having been uniquely privy to global trends, Jean Lemire takes a lucid look at society’s great challenges and offers points for pondering that will leave no one indifferent.
